A Special Thanks to Stacy Vellas who wrote the addendum based on interviews she conducted in the 1990's. I was only 6 at the time but I remember the process of putting the book together very well. My mother Joan Nelson Kingsley typed his words onto special mimeograph paper. Then I remember turning the crank on the mimeograph machine to make the pages. I probably didn't get to make pages that were actually used in his book but who knows? After the pages were all typed and printed then came the task of putting the pages together. All of the pages were spread out on a bunch of tables filling my Grandparents garage. I remember a bunch of people making laps around the tables taking one copy off of each pile. Then the pages were all sent off to be bound. There were 1000 copies of the book printed and bound. In 2006 my Mother Joan Nelson Kingsley retyped the whole book into Word. In 2007 my Aunt Carmen Kingsley Stratemeyer Edited it after being retyped. Karin Nelson Bailey would like to add the following quote from her dad Herman. "As we talk to different people, we notice that two people, "telling the same story", will come up with completely different versions."
